Excerpt: I've been using Panasonic DVD-RAM recorders like this for 8-years or more. This is a European unit with a PAL tuner and NTSC recording. I use the SVHS and DV inputs only because the PAL tuner would require a converter which would probably compromise picture quality. I use it to record TV shows from cable by presetting the cable channel to record via AV4 SVHS input. This DMR-18 has fewer features than the DMR-15 it replaces, but they're minor.

Excerpt: We have several of these units + different models and they work flawlessly. Just bought this new one to replace the older version but has a design issue. The power button is above the loading tray making you think that is the load/inload disc button (and you know what happens when you push that) Also NO BUTTONS for pause play FF/RW on the unit (record only). Must always use the remote. Sometimes a hassle if you have several machines going at once.
