It seems like just yesterday that I reviewed the DMP-BD35 and DMP-BD55 players (HT, December 2008). But Panasonic spared little time getting its replacements out into the market. This was almost a blink, and you’ll miss the window for the DMP-BD35 and DMP-BD55. Panasonic just introduced the DMP-BD60 and DMP-BD80, which are nearly identical to the models they’re replacing. But this time around, Panasonic has jumped into the streaming video craze and added Viera Cast... Read more

The DMP-BD60K is an excellent Blu-ray player available at a very reasonable price. And while it doesn't have all of the features offered by some of the competition, the build quality and performance is better than most. If you're ready to take the step up to a true HD disc player, the DMP-BD60K makes an excellent choice. Read more

  4. Panasonic DMP-BD60K Blu-ray Player Preview

    3 June 2009

Panasonic’s DMP-BD60K Blu-ray player features a solid lineup of features at a fairly reasonable price.  It’s not going to blow anyone away, but at an MSRP of $199, it doesn’t need to. The BD60K does most of what we’ve come to expect from a low to mid priced Blu-ray player.  It outputs video at a 1080p resolution at 24 frames per second.  That includes upconverted standard definition DVDs.  It offers support for Deep Color and x.v. Color, and has a few... Read more

I value the Cnet editors opinions and reference their reviews when considering all technology purchases. However, I must say they missed on this product. A 3 star rating is ridiculous! To downgrade a product because it does not match the bells and whistles of another is simply wrong and misleading to people reading these reviews. I assume most people looking into Blu-ray are interested in upgrading their movie viewing experience and aren't as concerned with low quality... Read more

This is my 3rd Blu-ray player I have bought in 3 years. The Blu-ray picture quality is outstanding. The Viera cast is easy to use and has a very well thought out menu design. Within 5 minutes of hooking it up I was streaming you tube videos. This player also up-converts standard DVDs almost as well as my Pioneer Elite Dvd player. I have not been able to find any other Blu-ray player in the $200 price range that has the video quality this one has. I highly recommend it! Read more or see product

We use this product for Blue Ray and even tried the older dvd's. They look great. The only thing I don't like is the fact that it loads slowly. If load time is not an issue for you then its a great deal. Read more or see product

I purchased the Panasonic BD-605 (seems to be the same as the BD-60 with the addition of the HDMI cable) from Costco on 12/29/09. I immediately updated the firmware to 2.2 since I had read a lot about the freeze problem. We rent Blu-ray from Netflix and have played only 6 Blu-ray DVDs so far. When I played the latest DVD, "The Patriot", I got several picture pixilations and freezes before I had played the first hour of the movie. I checked for damage or smudges but...
