Misleading Panasonic...

Blue Subie "Either he's dead or my watch has ..., Amazon

  • Summary: ... some might call it lying. I called Panasonic after hours spent on my Yamaha AV receiver (RX-V863) and the BD10AK menus. The problem: I couldn't get my receiver to push Dolby True HD audio, only PCM or regular Dolby Digital through my 7.1 speakers. Although there are Dolby True HD stickers on the unit itself, the manual actually states that if the media has Dolby True HD or DTS-HD as its soundtrack, the BD-10AK will ONLY playback in Dolby Digital. So which is true?

Nice design, good work, region problem.Sometimes boots slow.

Hee Chul Kwon "directorgod", Amazon
6 January 2008
  • Summary: Well the title is pretty much what I want to say. When I play DVD, Region 3(Korea, China, and some of the Asian countries except Japan) cannot be played even though Region A is now included Asia. Titles like Die hard 1,2, it needs like 1 minutes to read the disc. The product itself is a little too big still comparing to recent DVD players. Also the remote control is too big as well.

  • Excerpt: This is my first review in quite some time so I'll be as good as I can at reviewing this little number for you all. I've had the opportunity to give this product a test-run at a friend's shop and I just had to write a review on it .... First of all what is it? It's a High Definition Blu-ray player. Blu-Ray is one of the two formats that are currently battling it out for supremacy as the successor to DVD.
  • Pros: Very nice design, excellent picture and audio quality
  • Cons: Slow loading times in places, and the risk of Blu - Ray vs HD - DVD
