Excerpt: So, you want to buy a DVD player and save some money in the process? Well, you better think twice on this one.... Lacks in quality and features.. I've been around the DVD player world and back. After my travels, I've decided that, especially on newer players, 2 features are a must, and this player has neither. Need #1: Some sort of upconversion system.
Excerpt: This DVD player worked well for me. The only problem is that it only lasted about 3 months. Since I only paid around $30 for it, it did not put a very large financial dent in my wallet. I am, however disappointed. It cost me about $10 per month. $10 per month is not a good deal, and I am just filling up space now because the system told me that my review was too short.
Excerpt: While this player was given to me as a Christmas gift, I must say that I have had no problems with it. It is much faster than I thought, and plays more than just DVD's. It is quick to load, and quick to respond to the handset. While it is not that expensive (I'm a comparative shopper), I can safely state that it well surpasses the "cheap" models. The quality is good for the money.
Excerpt: I bought this DVD player because I'm unemployed and couldn't spend a fortune. I like that price and the low-profile design, but I found that the remote didn't reach the device well and it stopped playing after only six plays. Unfortunately, I don't watch many DVDs and by the time it broke, it was out of warranty. Not a good investment.
Summary: I missed that this product was refurbished , and noticed it when I received it. The top of the case had much abrasion, and the remote batteries were missing, I saw a poorly wrapped power cord, and rewrapped remote, so I knew this product had been used.I looked in the owners manual and saw a message from Hopper Inc, a limited warranty for 90 days, not the usual 1 year warranty.
Summary: I purchased this for my parents for Christmas. It appears to play so far, but the top had a large dent in it, and the remote was crusted with food (??) between the buttons, and most of the numbers were worn off the remote buttons!! The underside of the remote was all scratched, like it had been rubbed acrosss the floor...about a million times! I've had remotes for 10 years and not had the numbers wear off - what the heck??
Summary: I bought this as a Christmas gift and was utterly emabarrassed. I understand that it was "refurbished" but the least they could have done was INCLUDE THE REMOTE CONTROL!!!! No rca cables either which did state were not included. Also, was packaged with a nice letter hoping the consumer enjoys their "refurbished" dvd player. Needless to say I found one somewhere else for the same price. How embarrasing. I love Overstock but will never buy electronics again from here!
Summary: Between the price and this item being refurbished I was very nervous about this purchase, however 'O' hasn't let us down yet so it was certainly worth the risk. Sure enough, this was a STEAL! :) We are thoroughly impressed with this DVD player. My only small complaint was that the remote was really dirty, but with a Clorox wipe it was all good. This would be great for a gift for kids or in a second bedroom. We would absolutely recommend!
Summary: It may be a great price but I bought one for my son elsewhere and it doesn't work properly. It would cost more to ship back and forth under the warranty than it is worth. Try a different brand!
