Summary: I really only needed a remote, but the remotes I found to match this unit cost as much as the whole shebang, So I just got a second DVD player to use in the other room and share the remote between them. Works perfectly.
Summary: This dvd player is a piece of garbage. It worked fine for the first 3 months I had it. But then it began to freeze scenes while playing, requiring a total reboot, and various other tricks. After 2 months of this, the player ceased playing altogether.
Summary: I got this to upscale my dvds as I had been using an old dvd/vhs combo unit. I didn't know what to expect with an upscaling DVD. I could tell the dvds were clearer and had better sound and enjoyed that. Then I bought a blue ray/upscaling dvd and it was much clearer. Now this one is my spare.
Summary: This is an inexpensive but perfectly fine dvd player. There's nothing fancy about it, it's compact and easy to set up/use. True, the remote is poorly designed and it's a bit noisy but hey, for under $40 it's as good as it gets.
Summary: Paid $37.88 plus tax at walmart instore. My old player went out and I needed something quick. Didnt want to spend a lot. Plays everything I put in it so far. I had some issues getting it hooked up but I attribute that to ME more than anything.
Summary: This is my second one - I shipped the original to a friend who doesn't like shopping for electronics. Nice, simple-to-use unit. Good complement of ports: HDMI, component, composite, S-video, and coax cable. The S-video is handy to hook up to older tv sets if so equipped.
Summary: The Good news is: that the unit is Plug & Play: AC power, HDMI cable and Audio Out to my Surround System receiver. The Bad news is: that the unit will not play every one of your burned DVDs. It plays some, but not all.
