If I can't use it, the lowest review I can give it here is 1 STAR

Summary: The rating for this unit deserves minus stars - this unit is junk - can't play anything; there's "stretch" on the screen, then break up and eventual stop - reset it dozens of times - it's worthless - very annoyed I wasted money on this purchase - looking for a replacement & it won't be Magnavox.
Summary: Bought this item as a gift for my mother and so far she seems to be happy with it. She can now view her DVD's and VCR's and use only 1 outlet instead of two. Only issue, she wishes there was a screen on the front of the device for the time. She is so used to having her VCR act as a clock that she forgot she has a clock on top of her entertainment cabinet. Oh well, it works and that is all that matters.
Summary: An impulse but for my mother, as her DVD player had quit and she had a bunch of VHS tapes. The DVD player never worked. When I called Magnavox, I referred to another number that was a service company for some other manufacturer. This is some off-brand crap that, for some reason, has the Magnavox name on it.
Summary: yesterday i bought this product...it played one dvd all the way thru and then when we tried to play another one it played almost halfway thru and said there was a disc error...then it wouldnt let me get the dvd out...i had to unscrew the top to get to my dvd to get it out...well we tried another dvd (a brand new one) and it did the exact same thing...i took it back to the store to get a refund and one of the ladies said her father has brought back 3 of these..
Summary: I just got my Magnavox combo but I've already watched a couple of tapes and one DVD with none of the problems I'm reading here. Sound quality and volume on the tape is essentially the same as with the TV and the VCR motor is noiseless. I didn't have to adjust the volume when I switched from one mode to the other and the small speakers on my TV aren't exactly great for good bass no matter what.
Summary: I NEEDED a combo, non negotioable. WELL, after having to hook it THROUGH a cable box, then THROUGH my old VCR...it sucks. The VHS works ok for me, but the dvd portion is a NIGHTMARE. I can't get through a 25 minute tv episode without it stickling like bubble gum. It skips like a darn double dutch team.
