Summary: Bought this primarily for the feature to stream from PC/laptop to LG HDTV. Works with Win7 on laptop, but not XP on desktop. Would've given 5 stars if XP had worked. Also, reads MKV files on thumb drive that's plugged into Upgrader. Could not read such files if thumb drive is plugged directly into LG TV.
Summary: I love the idea of being able to use my TV for more than just broadcast/cable TV. This little box does that! And it is the only one I have found that has an actual web browser (yes, you can type in URL's and go to any website) built in. My only compaint is the clunky remote (that's why there are 4 not 5 stars in my rating). It works but not quickly.
Summary: First the bad, LG has an ingenious feature on some of their devices called simplelink which allows you to use one remote on all your LG devices. Not sure what LG was thinking so I had to drop this device one star because they did not add the simplelink feature when they designed this little device. Someone at LG had a lapse in memory.
Summary: This box works fairly well but interface is poor. The wireless connection is not always recognized as being connected. The box is great for Netflix, Hulu, etc. but I haven't found a good USA news app. I don't think there will be anymore updates. You can hook up an external hard drive and it can play most video formats. You can't do that with AppleTV. Apple TV has a much better interface and better video performance.
Firmware Issues at first but got it working and it is Great!

Summary: I experienced some of the same issues other reviewers have complained about which is the fact that the Firmware upgrade does not load properly OTA in some cases. It appeared to load properly and it showed the current version of ST.8.79.182.F Dated:2011.09.20. But as others have complained about there was no Hulu Plus or Amazon Streaming Available under the Premium Apps page. I called into LG support and they were less than helpful in resolving the issues.
PLEASE READ: other reviewers are confused or misinformed
Akshun J "Akshun J", Amazon

Summary: *****YES YES YES, the LG ST600 includes Hulu Plus AND Amazon Videos. You need to setup the unit and immediately do the firmware update. After the update and a rather long install process (several minutes), you will need to turn the unit on again. There are three vertical menu boxes. Go to the one labeled "Premium", go to the "+" and click it. A new menu (more familiar to us LG TV and BD owners) will load.
Summary: I have been reading the negative reviews on this unit, and I really want to comment myself. I have owned the ST600 for about three weeks and have been extremely satisfied with its performance and features. Contrary to some of the reviews, the only important video service not available yet is Hulu Plus, which is coming soon according to LG. I have been using services from Amazon, Netflix, and Youtube with no glitches or problems.
Summary: First off, I did not buy my LG ST600 at Amazon as I received it as a gift. After researching this item at Amazon and other AV sites, I made it known that I would like to get my hands on one. I had already established that it was not a perfect solution but with recent updates, the system has seemed to have gotten much better. The box now has Hulu Plus, Amazon Instant Video, Daily Motion, and quite a few others that I had not seen mentioned before.
