Challenges are good?

DaphneyB, Amazon

  • Summary: When I ordered the product I had read the reviews; which to say the least scared me. When I received the product my worst fears had been confirmed. The remote that came with this is so hard to use. It took hours just to log on to Youtube, and it didn't come with HuluPlus which we had just ordered.

New-LG Smart TV Upgrade Web Browsing - ST600

DRC, Amazon
16 September 2011
  • Summary: Works great if all you want is to watch Netflix. Also nice for watching your tube. The web browsing is tedious at best since typing is not the easiest thing to do with this device and browsing is very sluggish.

Not to shabby

  • Summary: First things first. LG released this product unfinished. They will never admit that but they did. This product has been abandoned by LG and will never recieve any more updates. LG will never admit this either but it is true so consider this if you decide to buy one. Why does this matter?

  • Summary: It's OK. But that is about it. The CD is not much help. My device stops recognising Netflix. the first time it automatically set-up and I forgot to note the activation code. Now it seems I have to reenter the actiavtion code and it is not to be found on the manual or CD that came along with the ST...

  • Summary: Some background first. I needed a streamer for my own collection of movies and home videos, but I didn't like the idea of a AppleTV because I didn't want to leave a computer running. My videos are stored on a NAS, and they are various formats from AVIs to MPeg4 (H.264).

A bit clunky

Amazon Customer, Amazon
28 September 2011
  • Summary: Having an LG Smart 42" TV, the spare 22" TV seems rather underwhelming, so I welcomed buying this little box which purports to convert any TV into a smart TV. This box is wi-fi or wired and wi-fi suited me for the small TV's location. The connection to the TV is by HDMI lead.

No 4OD or ITV Player planned

Denis Dennehy, Amazon
28 September 2011
  • Summary: I was about to purchase this item but it looks like app development is at a bit of an impasse. I emailed customer support and they have informed my that there is no plans for 4OD or ITV Iplayer apps - so don't hold your breath if you are holding out for these.

Not really worth it

jon, Amazon

  • Summary: Gives me i player access. Does stream my photo content from nas. However clunky interface. Other apps are a waste of time. I am sure there are better options out there. Update jan 2013 - LG have now killed iplayer functionality with a firmware 'update'. Go elsewhere.
