Summary: I have had this DVD player for years. I have had no problems with it! When this player decides to go I will replace it with itself; that is how reliable this player is. For those reviews that said their player died quickly-keep in mind that no matter what company you buy from there are bound to be duds. JVC is a great company and therefore produced a great DVD player. Buy this machine and you will not be dissapointed!
A Reliable, High-Performance DVD Player with Few Drawbacks

Summary: Ok, I've been reading the reviews on this one and I figured I put my 2 cents in. First of all, this is NOT the player for you if you want CD-R, CD-RW or MP3 capability. I'm sure there are others out there that will appeal to your needs so stop reading now. That said, I'll touch on the positive first, then the drawbacks. This was my first DVD player. I wanted a brand known for high quality and made room in my budget accordingly.
Summary: I was satisfied until 14 months after I got it the thing decided to stop reading both DVD's and CD's. I used it normally in my home and was just starting to get a decent DVD collection and it did this.It was a fine product up until this event but considering the price of DVD players I dont think its something people want to keep buying so to let you know it doesnt work after 14 months!
Summary: When I initially purchased this item I was totally thrilled with it. I have had the product for a little under a year, and am still pleased with it but would like to point out an issue or two I have concerning the player. First off, for folks with large DVD collections (i.e. over 200) this is not the best choice. The more DVD's and regions I play, the more confused this player seems to get. It still plays all the DVD's I own but gives me quite a bit of attitude.
Summary: I have had this DVD player for almost a year (I got it as a gift last Christmas) and have had NO problems with it at all. It's quiet, plays DVD's, CD's, CDR's and CDRW's with no problem. It also plays VCD's but I haven't used that feature because I don't have any. But overall it's a wonderful DVD player. And I'm not sure if it's my television or the DVD player but the sound quialty is unbelievable. I can hear every word and don't need subtitles at all.
Summary: In my opinion there are not many better DVD players on the market today, especially at this price. This DVD player offers features not found on other companies DVD players. I've owned 3 DVD players including this one. One from ProScan and one from Sony, and I have never been as pleased as I am with this purchase.
Summary: I recently bought the JVC DVD player. The three disc tray is very helpful. It is a great looking machine. The JVC has good picture quality. It has quite a few extra features (most I will never use.) The price is what sells this. That is very hard to beat. It does have a couple drawbacks though: The remote control is awful. I dont know who designed it but it needs some serious improvements. Buttons our in awful places.
Summary: I recently tested this JVC DVD player and I came away very impressed. For all of you cinephiles out there you will be pleased with the 3 tray system that is offered here. No more getting up off your couch and changing individual DVD's manually. The JVC model changes the DVD's without much fuss and within a matter of seconds. I was very pleased with how seamless this action took place. Every function from scene selection to scene advancement works within a split second.
