Old school, but nice

Cam, Amazon

  • Summary: I've had one of these players for several years. Like many people, I have a pretty large collection of DVDs and an HDTV. I also don't want to pay a lot of money for Blu-Ray movies. The nice thing about this player is that it upscales DVDs to 1080i, so the picture is better than out of a standard DVD player hooked up via component video cables -- you have to use the DVI output to upscale the video, though! Tons of setup options, good sound, good video, no problems.

  • Summary: Features are EXCELLENT!.. However customer service DOES NOT EXIST!!.. The display went out on my 6 months after i bought.. sent it off to denon.. Took 6 months to get it back.. I called multiple times and could not get an answer.. Went onto the website and filled out the "customer service card" and still no service.. I finally got a body and they said "your unit is in service we will ship it out in a month".. WTF.. It came the next day.. Interesting.. Bottom Line..

  • Summary: Started out buying it because I loved the Denon reciver I had just got, then I found out about the DACs (Burr Brown PCM/DSD 1764) and that was that.
  • Pros: It's makes everything sound great .
  • Cons: Makes you want more Denon stuff.

Good solid player that will play home made SACDs.

yellowcrunchynuts, Ebay
5 April 2012
  • Summary: I bought this player primarily as a SACD player and more specificly to play 'home made' SACD discs as it is one of the few that have the ability. To this purpose it has performed quite well and fulfuilled all my expectations. I had planned to buy the 3910 which is the model above this one but this one was $150 cheaper and didn't lose that much on performance or features.

  • Summary: I've had my 2910 for about 6 months, and it's picture quality on a Hitachi 42"HD screen is awesome. Easy to use (much better than previous Denon DVD players), and unparralled sound quality.
