Summary: It installed OK, and we enjoyed it when we used it (which was rarely). Since the Olympics are on my wife wanted to watch some events while making TV. She initially said there was no picture, but I can BARELY make out a very dim picture. So dim that I can't reliably see what the menu says. I'm not sure if there is a light source that burned out or what else could be the problem, but for a TV that likely has less than 20 hours on it, I wouldn't expect it to be burned out.
Summary: I purchased this TV/DVD/CD player for our kitchen. I waited to install it a few months and to my dismay, the only thing that works is the TV. No matter what type of disk (DVD, CD, etc...) we insert, the disk drive does not work and we get this message on the screen: "Bad Disk." I have tried to contact Coby. If you call their phone number you get a message sending you to their website, then the call hangs up.
Summary: Lots of great features, easy to install and set up --- all at a reasonable price. Then I turned it on. It's one of those TVs where, if you're not looking at it straight on, you see nothing but blur. Sure it's adjustable, but every time you move you lose the picture. There's no way I would recommend this product.
Summary: I really wanted to send this back but the 15% restocking fee made me to just deal with a bad purchasing choice. I had an old GPX 7" undercabinet radio/tv that was so much better than this Coby. The Coby suffers from very poor radio sound. My 20 year old clock radio is so much better. This Coby sounds ok when you use it as a TV though. You are asking why the difference? It's because this unit was built by cobbling together a TV/DVD unit with a radio.
Summary: Great concept. Easy to mount. Large 15.6 inch screen would be great if you didn't have to view straight on to see a clear picture. I know technology is better than this when compared to other flat panels in my house this one is terrible. Viewing must be done pretty much straight on to get a good picture. Power on defaults to DVD and you have to access a menu to get to TV.
Summary: Great little TV. Purchased for use in kitchen. The family spends a lot of time in kitchen cooking and baking goodies. I like to be able to hear and see the evening news while preparing dinner or I have the radio to listen to. Haven't tried the DVD player yet. But everything else works great. Set up with Phillips antenna at first. Used auto program and picked up 10 stations which is pretty good for our area. We live in the country and even cell phone reception is bad.
