Summary: First of all, for the reviewer who says they use their own format, yes but they provide a program to convert CDG songs into their format, easy to use. There is even a utility I found on the internet that converts their format back to CDG. Why would anyone use this unit with discs???
Summary: We love our new Cav's karaoke player. We have had several Cavs players before and they are of very good quality. We do karaoke as a business in the winter times in Texas and need a player we can depend on.
Summary: I ordered this player in October 2010 for $360 through Amazon. It's now listed for $199. I also ordered 4 of their SCDG's. After an hour, the device was no longer able to read any disk. If it continued to read disks, and function, I would have easily given it 4 stars.
Summary: To have lyrics work, using the USB port, the files have to be in one of 2 CAVS PROPRIETARY file formats!! The rest of the karaoke world uses CDG, but noooooo... CAVS has their own proprietary version of "CDG", so you have to buy it from them!
Summary: I don't really trust the quality of CAVS players, but it's the only one I've found that will play the Super CDGs. This is my 2nd one. The first 203g crapped out after about 2 years of very light use.
Summary: Before I bought this player I was using 2 to 3 CD players to keep my music rolling and carting around all of my CD's with the rest of my DJ equipment. Now I can leave most of the discs at home and only carry the specialized music for weddings or parties that I will be leaving with the hosts.
