Summary: It makes me sick that the computer games are as good as they are, and now that its on ds it just blows. I bought this game purely on the fact that it brought back memories of playing zoo tycoon on my computer before it ultimately crashed:(. This game is just horrible. The campaign AND the free-build modes are both very limited. There is absolutely nothing to do after you beat the campaign mode, and there are limits to how much you can build in free-build mode.
Summary: The graphics in this game are just terrible. You can barely see any of the details, and the instructions are hidden and extremely difficult to find. There's barely enough room to make about 2 or 3 exhibits. So don't spend your money on this game for the Nintendo D.S. Three words: Boring, Unclear instructions, complete waste of time.
Summary: Got a DS for Christmas and bought this game to familiarize myself with the system... This game was entertaining and the challenges were interesting. I think my only issue with the game is I have played this and other version on the computer and so I already knew what to expect. After a few levels, I realized each challenge would start with the same animals that I was used to from the computer... However...
Summary: Bought the game for my animal loving 6 y.o. daughter. The good part is it is real easy for a six year old to keep the animals happy; feed em, pet 'em, clean 'em, (all easy to do) and the animals are happy. The hard part is designing the enclosures. The game is picky on how and where you place the enclosures. Once you figure out what animal you want to put in an exhibit the game provides all the info you need to fill out the enclosure to keep your animals happy.
Summary: I just started playing, and I'm already a little frustrated with this game. I own the original Zoo Tycoon for PC. I don't know how Zoo Tycoon 2 is for PC, but this game is not user friendly. In the original Zoo Tycoon, I could put fences and landscaping (such as flower boxes for the guests) flush against the grid layout for the game. This game will not let you do so. It will also not let you build your own fence segment by segment.
Excerpt: I'm a big fan of Zoo Tycoon on the PC, and so when I realised that I could get it for my Nintendo DS, I was keen to try it. I discovered there were two Zoo Tycoon games available for the DS, and I decided that it would make most sense to get Zoo Tycoon 2, as they would in essence be similar but it would have more features and hopefully better grahics.
Conclusion: i love games like these because to me they never end, there is no star prize like in a action or adventure game so you can just go on and on! There are different goals to complete but once you hav there is nothing to say that you cant carry on!! One of my favort thing in the whole game was the mini games you can play to increase your animals needs insted of hireing a zoo keeper to do it for you (but as your zoo gets bigger it might help) Overally i love this game and...
