Summary: Tony Hawk has had a pretty good track record on the handheld circuit over the years, and Tony Hawk's Proving Ground for the DS is no different. Returning to the series' roots after last year's lukewarm Tony Hawk's Downhill Jam, Proving Ground provides everything that's made the series so great in the first place.
Summary: I bought this game a day or two after it came out, and I can easily say that it is the most fun that I've had with a Tony Hawk game in recent memory. I'm a major fan of the series, and I have been with it ever since the first one came out on the PS1, and this game reminded me of a more-improved version of THPS 1.
Summary: It's a very interesting game which is not that hard to work out. The graphics are ideal for a DS so it ticks the boxes there. There is lots of different places to skate and lots of different tricks to perform so a very good game !
Summary: I bought this game the over day unsure off what it would be like but now I cant stop playing it, The levels are really good on this game and I have not once got bored off it! I have only completed 20% of my career mode and have played on it for hours.
Excerpt: Tony hawks proving ground is one in a long line of Tony Hawk video games. Tony Hawk video games have been very popular throughout and Proving Ground is no different. Proving round is avalibleon many platforms from console gaming to portable gaming. The proving Ground I have is for the nintendo ds. At the time I bought it for about £8 from argos which at the time I remeber thinking that for a brand new ds £8 is a very good price.
Pros: great graphics, great game, real tony hawk experience
Excerpt: I have never understood the whole skating thing. The attitude, the music, the persona individuals portray or the skateboard. The whole concept has always been alien to me. To be brutally honest I find skaters around my local city to be rude and obnoxious and people that are just a pain. 99.8% of these ‘thorns in societies side’ cannot skate at all and their feeble attempts (when they can be bothered) to perform the simplest of tricks is laughable at best.
Pros: Great graphics, great sound, great fun
Cons: Linking the tricks can take a bit of time but it is worth it in the end
Excerpt: Tony Hawks is a strong institution among skaters and gamers alike. For me his games have always been likable, but there's something about Proving Ground that makes this game a cut above the rest. The NDS version of the game incorporates both the regular button control and the use of the stylus, optimizing the use of the touch screen facility.
Pros: Geat game for all ages, challenging yet achievable, fun and cool
Conclusion: I got proving ground for the DS instead of the PS3 version because i watched some gamplay videos on youtube of the DS version and thought it looked pretty good and i got myself exciting for the DS version instead of the PS3 version. Am not going to re-buy it for the PS3 because i feel i dont need to. This is a really good game for the DS and has loads of fun goals for you to play you will find yourself playing on proving ground on your DS for hours and hours.
