Tokyo Beat Down

Tokyo Beat Down is a Nintendo DS game developed by Atlus and revolves around the story of detective Lewis Cannon and his squad, who are nicknamed the “beast cops” for their tendency to shoot / punch / kick first and ask questions only if the suspect is not yet dead. The game’s story unfolds through comic book-style scenes in which the only motion is the repositioning of a character's face or the materialization of text balloons. The game features side-scrolling beat-'em-up action with state-of-the-art 3D graphics, requires gamers to master martial arts moves, or grab the nearest gun and shoot down foes. The game has an ESRB rating of T for Teen.

Features

The game features sordid tale of Tokyo's criminal set which unfolds through the eyes of three different cops with different play styles. The game features story branches that lead to multiple endings which will determine whether players get their shot to beat down the ultimate crime boss. This game’s visceral gameplay includes beat 'em up action that lets gamers hurl enemies into each other, chain together combos, execute special moves and throws, and then let loose on foes an arsenal of firearms, ranging from the small to the obscenely large. Gamers choose from a variety of weapons, ranging from handguns to rocket launchers, for intense action on each level. The game also gives gamers a sense of 70's cop show vibe through its outrageous style, over-the-top substance, and no holds barred hardboiled police action mix with humor and dialogue.
