Time Ace

Digital Chumps

  • Conclusion: Ultimately Time Ace deserves a look by anyone who enjoys combat flight games. It has a cool, fun story, some fine visuals and audio, and it controls pretty well. It’s a bit unpolished and could have benefited from another month or so of development, but as it stands it’s not a bad game and it’s worth a rental and possible purchase after that.

Time Ace Review

GameSpot
18 June 2007
  • Excerpt: If you were an expert pilot who could travel through time, would you A) take over the world B) defend it from the kinds of people who would take over the world or C) fly back to the 80's and get rich betting on sports? In Time Ace, a new Konami rail shooter for the Nintendo DS, the decision is made for you. Instead of seizing a millennium's worth of royal rights or following in the fat footsteps of Biff Tannen, you thwart the anachronistic schemes of the evil Dr.
  • Pros: A reasonably entertaining rail shooting experience, won't cost you an arm and a leg to enjoy
  • Cons: Reminds you why so many DS games are 2D, very short and too easy, where are the awesome power-ups?

Time Ace

  • Conclusion: It is unfortunate that Time Ace doesn’t have stronger guns under the hood to really take this game to the next level. There is not anything necessarily broken about this game, but I think the fact that Time Ace doesn’t have any mobility and keeps things so linear that it really draws the game back quite a bit. If you enjoy flight games you might want to give it a rental, but for the most part I would say you’re better off going elsewhere.

More George Lazenby than Daniel Craig

Pocket Gamer

  • Conclusion: Some nice ideas and a relatively fresh approach to the Bond franchise, but there are just too many rough edges to the core action to recommend a purchase

Time Ace
