Take a Trip on the Yellow Brick Road!

Lumpy Space Princess, Amazon
12 July 2013
  • Summary: Here is my opinion: Pros + All of your favorite characters from Oz are here + AMAZING graphics. Best I have seen on ds ! + Ratio system is intuitive + Witches have great personalities + Controlling Dorothy with the trackball is a blast! Cons - Battle system gets repetitive and boring - Aside from witches, characters are very dull - Toto is pretty much useless :-( -Levels are mazelike and can be confusing if you forget to mark signs - Saving can be a pain; you can only...

  • Summary: I purchased this game for my 8-year-old daughter. She seems to be enjoying it a lot. I was looking for something for a girl that was also challenging. This seems to fit the bill.

"Hijinx, Piggy-bats and Attack Carrots, Oh My!"

mwreview "mwreview", Amazon
7 April 2011
  • Summary: Who would've thought the characters from the Wizard of Oz would make a cool RPG? Well, "Beyond the Yellow Brick Road" is a fun and well-designed game where Dorothy and Toto team up with the Scarecrow, Lion and Tin Man to take on the witches who have usurped the Wizard of Oz's power in the land of magic. When you're done defeating the witches, you get a new more powerful enemy to fight.

Wizard of Oz is a great movie....

LoisLane, Amazon
2 December 2010
  • Summary: If you are expecting this game to be like the movie it isn't.... instead you spend the entire game running a few feet and getting stopped to "fight" some strange being. After the first level you should have fought the Scarecrow, Lion, and Tin Man who tag along to assist you on your quest. You also reach the "Emerald City" by the end of the first level to find out that you have to find 9 eggs and defeat the four evil witches.

Good RPG for Beginners, A Bit Repetitive

CG, Amazon
1 December 2009
  • Summary: I love XSeed as a developer, as they take risks and produce gems like Retro Game Challenge and Little King's Story . This game is no exception. A turn-based role-playing game (RPG), you start as Dorothy and are soon joined by the Tin Man, Scarecrow, and the Lion. You explore different levels and different bizarrely themed enemies, collecting armor and weapons for the different characters. This game is good for beginners and RPG veterans alike.

An interesting take on The Wizard of Oz

Christie S., Amazon
27 October 2009
  • Summary: I bought this game on a whim and I must say I'm not disappointed with my choice. The game is surprisingly entertaining and overall charming. The graphics are on the high standards for the DS. The charcters are colorful and wacky as you'd expect from a fantasy story. The battle system is done in first person and you can switch out party members as you please though it's a bit more complicated as a member of your party takes up a certain amount of battle slots and you have...
