Summary: I love Sims games, but this one didn't do it for me especially on the DS. I was disappointed because the only part I enjoyed was to squish the bugs with my stylus. I would not recommend this game to Sim fans because it might change their opinion on Sims.
Summary: I love puzzles and I love Sims so from what I gathered from other reviewers (on Amazon and elsewhere), I figured this would be something I'd enjoy--despite some of the reviews being bad. At first it was kind of fun, but then it became tediously boring. I will confess that I'm usually really bad about beating games: I think I've actually beat four or five in my lifetime--and I spent months (Zelda LTTP and OoT).
One of the Most Frustrating Games I've Ever Played

Summary: I too am a big fan of the Sims franchise, and had a blast playing the (highly addictive) Sims 2 for the DS. But I am ready to throw Castaway into the sea. While a cool concept and fun to get started on, it becomes very frustrating very quickly. I spend all my time now hunting one particular kind of fish so I can progress through the game. It's been three days and I still have not caught the stupid fish.
Summary: I thought this game would be something like Ubrz in the City or Bustin Out with missions to complete and fun things like that. But this game is no fun at all! You are stranded on a desert island and you have to try to get off. The conversations with people are no fun and the objectives are unclear and no fun to complete. I like sims game but not this one! Save your money and buy something fun like Thrillville.
Summary: I've played the Sims on PC so when this was released for the DS I figured why not? I wasn't disappointed, at least not for quite some time. You wash up on an island with only the clothes you're wearing. The first thing you should do is find food, there are bushes with berries, shellfish on the beach and various fruits dropping from trees. As you explore you will be able to collect rocks, sticks etc to build a decent shelter and other buildings.
Pros: New scenario
Cons: Small map, minimal interaction with characters, finished with characters storylines = nothing to do
The Sims 2: Castaway (DS): It's all you need... For a headache

Summary: I really wanted a DS Lite for christmas so I went out and splashed a bit of dosh :P I bought a few games with it, Zelda:Phanthom Hourglass, Sims 2 Castaway, Pippa Funnels...something...And My Sims. First I tried out Sim 2, naturally and from almost the first half hour of playing it I got hopelessly lost, stuck and frustrated and ended up leaving it aside for 2 months before trying to tackle it again.
Pros: Graphics were O.K and the plot was quite good.
Cons: The gradual process took too long and the ending was shabby and slap-dash
Summary: this game is rubbish 4 the DS but brilliant 4 the PSP. the graphics r better and u can do more things and everything is more realistic. my friend is addicted to it but i just cannot see why i like the PSP version only 2 much more. if u want to take the risk then fine bt on the other games consoles u wil enjoy it lots more.
Conclusion: As previous reviews have said it's a great game until you don't know what to do next. I played this every night for about 2 weeks and then haven't played it since as there was nothing new to do and I got bored of just walking around the island. I'm sure true SIMS fans will love the game but not for me - I like things to be clear!!!
