One of the Most Frustrating Games I've Ever Played

Summary: I too am a big fan of the Sims franchise, and had a blast playing the (highly addictive) Sims 2 for the DS. But I am ready to throw Castaway into the sea. While a cool concept and fun to get started on, it becomes very frustrating very quickly. I spend all my time now hunting one particular kind of fish so I can progress through the game. It's been three days and I still have not caught the stupid fish.
Excerpt: I haven't played many Sims games before apart from Sims 2 but I've only managed to get so far within the game so Castaway was a completely new game for me. I keep hearing people saying they love Sims so I thought I should try them out too. The Plot Your sim has been accidentally knocked into a container and transported to a desert island in the middle of nowhere. You have to survive on the Island and find a way to get off and back home again.
Excerpt: I have really enjoyed the Sims games in the past. Disappointed that my computer is not compatible with Sims 3 due to my display card not being up to the requirements I decided to play castaway. In the game my sims character is stranded on an island and has to find a way to get off it. As the game progresses the sim comes across a medic, chef, girl and a gardener and offers to help them and in return receives items and eventually the ability to trade goods.
Pros: Many different activities to do to survive and become self efficient
Excerpt: I imagine by now everyone has heard of The Sims, the hugely popular game from EA games. The PC game and it's many expansions are a huge success, and it's only a couple of months to go until The Sims 3 is released (I have mine pre-ordered!) I have been a huge fan of The Sims since the first game came out onto the PC, and I have spent many hours on it and it's addicting gameplay. But as well as the PC games, EA also like to pump out console versions every now and then.
Pros: An addicting little game !
Cons: Not as good as the Sims, but they've made a good game here !
Excerpt: My experience of the Sims 2 Castaway is that of disappointment. The game is not as good quality as any of the other sims games on other Platforms and does not advertise the Sims in a good light. Compared to Sims CastAway PSP is amazing quality with alot more interactivity. It does not appeal to me. I dont think i was worth the money I paid for it. I think it would appeal to a younger member but for the older audience of the Sims this does not suit.
Pros: Younger users Would find this Appealing
Cons: Not for Dedicated members of the Sims - Sims2
Not worth the price. It's not absolutely awful, just disappointing

Excerpt: I've played the Sims on PC so when this was released for the DS I figured why not? I wasn't disappointed, at least not for quite some time. You wash up on an island with only the clothes you're wearing. The first thing you should do is find food, there are bushes with berries, shellfish on the beach and various fruits dropping from trees. As you explore you will be able to collect rocks, sticks etc to build a decent shelter and other buildings.
Not a bad game, I wouldn't recommend it to those of you who anger easily.

Excerpt: I really wanted a DS Lite for christmas so I went out and splashed a bit of dosh :P I bought a few games with it, Zelda:Phanthom Hourglass, Sims 2 Castaway, Pippa Funnels...something...And My Sims. First I tried out Sim 2, naturally and from almost the first half hour of playing it I got hopelessly lost, stuck and frustrated and ended up leaving it aside for 2 months before trying to tackle it again.
Summary: this game is rubbish 4 the DS but brilliant 4 the PSP. the graphics r better and u can do more things and everything is more realistic. my friend is addicted to it but i just cannot see why i like the PSP version only 2 much more. if u want to take the risk then fine bt on the other games consoles u wil enjoy it lots more.
Conclusion: As previous reviews have said it's a great game until you don't know what to do next. I played this every night for about 2 weeks and then haven't played it since as there was nothing new to do and I got bored of just walking around the island. I'm sure true SIMS fans will love the game but not for me - I like things to be clear!!!
