Summary: Parents need to know that this game is part of the Star Wars juggernaut, and will likely be craved by any kid who counts him or herself a fan George Lucas' sci-fi universe -- especially those who enjoy the new Star Wars: The Clone Wars television show, upon which the game is based. The violence is similar to what is seen in the show; lots of lightsaber battles between Jedi and robots, monsters, and humanoid evildoers.
Star Wars: The Clone Wars – Jedi Alliance (DS) Review
3 December 2008
Excerpt: The Star Wars series hasn\’t really gone down well with fans as of late. The prequel films were really criticised by most film critics, while the recently released Clone Wars film also opened to less than stellar reviews. That being said, however, The Clone Wars animated television series has been well received by fans.
Excerpt: Videogame reviews are not here for your entertainment. They are not here to amuse you like Joe Pesci in "Goodfellas." They are here to tell you whether a game is good or bad; whether you should, as Crispy Gamer puts it, "Buy It," "Try It," or "Fry It." So let's cut to the chase: Star Wars: The Clone Wars: Jedi Alliance is bad.
Conclusion: Presentation-wise, expect a 3D engine with cutscenes that unfold in the bottom screen that happen to be fully voice supported. We're confident that those videos will compliment the experience nicely, but we've seen developers try full 3D DS games before, and they didn't turn out so hot. There's always the possibility of an exception, so we'll see how TCW -- Jedi Alliance turns out in that regard. That's pretty much all she wrote about this one.
Excerpt: While The Clone Wars animated movie didn’t fair too well at the box office, the TV series has been rather popular. With this in mind, it comes as little surprise that LucasArts developed a game tie-in, but oddly enough it has quite a lot to offer for Star Wars fans. There’s a unique story that plays out just like an episode of the TV series, the game has a tonne of voiceovers and as a whole, the production values are high.
Conclusion: Super Inszenierung, aber einige Abstriche in der Steuerung!
