Just not like the ones on other systems...

MovieBuffFan, Amazon

  • Summary: Truly, there's nothing wrong with this game. The graphics are all right, the game is pretty easy to understand, and there's that whole plot but it's just different on a play station or on a console. Not a bad game, just not my cup of tea anymore, I guess.

genre miix that works well this time

  • Summary: This game has the RPG elements of leveling, and the fighting elements of being able to do more than just one attack. You can learn many fighting skills as well as breath skills. Overall I gave this 3-stars because: it is easy to catch on debris, it is hard to land properly because the screen might consider a cliff area part of the abyss causing you to die when you properly landed, and many secret areas have nothing to them.

  • Summary: Spyro the Dragon was a great title I played as a little girl on the PS.Since then,I've played other games on other systems and I've drifted from the Spyro series.A few days after I received my DS,however,I received this game as a gift.I eagerly started the game with the expectation of it being as I remembered the series to be.I played the game with an open mind, but I couldn't help comparing it to past Spyro games. In other words,I didn't like. The storyline was slow paced...

Spyro: Shadow Legacy......

blackaciddevil, Amazon
31 December 2005
  • Summary: I'll admit, with the strength of the Nintendo DS, Spyro could have easily been done in a 3-D aspect, like Super Mario 64 DS and Rayman DS. Yet, for some reason, Vivendi Universal & Amaze Entertainment deemed it wise to make this Spyro game like the Gameboy Advance games(why they changed the developer from Digital Eclipse, now called Backbone Entertainment, to Amaze Entertainment is beyond me). In my personal opinion, that's not such a bad thing...

  • Excerpt: "I have always been an avid Spyro fan, that was until Spyro, The New Beginning came out and I was somewhat put off. Mainly because of how easy it was to complete, but also because it was a platform game instead of traditional RPG. With this in mind you could imagine my dilemma when I was faced with the option to play it. Anyhow I did get to play it and surprisingly I am enjoying it. The game starts off with Spyro enjoying his last days of his holiday ...

  • Excerpt: "Anyone who has read my other Spyro review knows how I adore Spyro, hence my DH (Darling Husband) bought me the NDS for my birthday (alas, I know I'm too old really) and along with the Mario Kart package, he added this game. It was all bundled in for £109.99 at Game. Spyro alone now ranges from £25.49 at Choices.co.uk to £29.99 at Game itself. **The Game Plan** You enter the game to find a nice simple task, get out of the room!!!! It's easy to ...
  • Pros: It's cute, fairly easy, and the kids like it
  • Cons: A game that doesn't capture your full attention
