Summary: Where to start? First off, let me just say that I enjoyed the original spectrobes game. It had a fun hook and the controls worked well. The sequel, however, fails to deliver the spark that made the original good. I found the fossil hunting with the new elements tedious and the story mode slightly confusing, especially if you take a break from the game for a few days. The objective menu is there, but it is not very specific. Now for the gameplay.
Summary: Spectrobes BTP improves on the original in almost every way possible. The graphics, game play and story have been improved and everything is just generally better. The only issues I have is that the camera occasionally gets stuck and the menu system takes a little getting used to, but apart from that this game is generally perfect in every way.
Its a new story alright....... just a bit .................

Conclusion: I would have given this game 3 or 3.5 star rating if it wasn't for the new species and evolutions of spectrobes. I found the new system confusing at first, then you get used to it over time. PROS are that this game has new species and evolutions, contains same main characters from original Spectrobes game, has a new story and some new planets to explore, new excavation system and in general.
