Excerpt: One of two things is going to happen when you pick up a popular old school game. Your either going to, one, think to yourself "wow I can't believe how much time this fossil of a game previously stole from my life" or, two, you're going to get that ole' warm giddy feeling you used to get when you picked up the game back in the day and be flooded with a bunch of old school memories.
Summary: If you didn’t get the first Space Invaders Extreme , get this. Just trust me. It’s an outstanding shooter that only gets better with practise, and it will keep you enthralled for a lot longer than you would expect for a $20 game.
Summary: Parents need to know that this is an enhanced version of the classic Space Invaders game that has been popular for over 20 years. It still has the same classic Space Invaders appeal of shooting pixelated aliens that appear on the screen. Aliens march across and then down the screen all while dropping bullets on you while your ship systematically takes them out.
Excerpt: I loved Space Invaders Extreme when it arrived on PSP and DS last year. It took the simple old-school gameplay that made the original game so popular and pumped it full with adrenaline. The result was a frenetic, fast-paced high-score beating arcade game. It was incredibly addictive, a great use of a classic license and huge fun.
Excerpt: Invaded... again. I remember where I was back in 1979 when Space Invaders first came to American shores and took us all by storm. I was negative 5-years old, really in the prime of my pre-life, just coming into my own in my soul-development, and I had the opportunity to run my no-where-near developed hands over the controls of that beauty. It was a sight to behold... if only I'd grown eyes by then. But now, there's the newest incarnation, Space Invaders Extreme 2 .
Pros: Still handles great, Still looks nice, Still is fun to play..., ...but doesn't have
Conclusion: Space Invaders Extreme 2 keeps the same addictive elements that made the first game so good and adds a few new features, but it's more of an incremental improvement. The gameplay is still great but very similar to last year's game, which makes Extreme 2 feel like a huge expansion pack. It's still a standout DS game though and a bargain at only $20.
Excerpt: I had the pleasure of playing Space Invaders Extreme 2, Square Enix and Taito's latest entry in the three decades-old shooter series. The game was released for the Nintendo DS at the end of last month. Where do I begin to describe a series that just about everyone in the gaming world is familiar with? First, this is Space Invaders. You're a little ship. There are other little ships on top of the touch screen that you need to shoot down.
