Summary: I came into Sonic Rush with the hope that I would get something like one of the original Genesis games but on my DS with updated graphics. Sadly, Sega wasn't even close to delivering on this. I hate jumping on the Sonic Team hate bandwagon, but I played this for maybe twenty minutes before literally tossing it away in disgust. Firstly, I wouldn't like to say this game is difficult, but it is annoying.
Summary: I'm 13 and just got this as a gift yesterday. I played it but there is no point. I've already opened it and cannot return it. Others with kids from 7-10 may like it.All you do is hold down the button pointing to the right and Sonic races through the level. I do not enjoy this and would not recommend it to older kids but maybe to clidren 7-11 not 12 and up.
Summary: This game is apparently all about speed. Sure, I'll give it that, but nothing else! Every time you die in this game it'll be because you didn't memorize the stage. You'll suddenly stumble into a platforming area from the usual hi-speed pointless loops with NO WARNING. Seriously, it's not difficult, per se, just annoyingly cheap. Once you memorize the stage it's easy peasy, but who in the right might wants to do that? The enemy placement is total bogus as well.
Summary: After reading all the other reviews, I expected a great game. I have to admit, the last Sonic game I played was the Genesis one. Maybe the franchise has gone other places, but I personally just didn't like playing this game. Specifically, my biggest problem was not being able to see the levels very well. The colors are very muted and often have little contrast.
Conclusion: The first rate graphics and the way both screens are used in play made me think this was going to be a classic, but in my opinion it fell well short. The reason is the frantic pace of the game. Never at any time did i feel in control ,in fact i felt i was being dragged along. I got the impression if i put it down whilst still running and went to make some tea and toast when i got back it would have finished the level without me,in short i felt surplus to requirements.i...
Summary: I was quite amazed at the number of high rated reviews left my people on Amazon. This game is good, but not good enough to warrant 4 or 5 stars. To put things in perspective for the gamers reading this who are old enough to remember Sonic 1,2 and 3on the Sega Megadrive/Master System Sonic Rush is not as good as these classic originals.
