Summary: I absolutely loved sonic when I was a kid and played on a sega mega drive. I loved the speed that my rolled and the fact you could lose rings but not die and pick more rings up to compensate. I was so chuffed when I got this game but I found it really really disappointing. The graphics are great and the sonic concept is unchanged. I also liked the fact that sonic rolls between the top and bottom screens.
Summary: Being an old school mega-drive Sonic fan, I was understandably dubious about this new handheld title- although Sonic Advance and its sequal managed to be fun and faithful to its roots, some recent variations from its path have disillusioned sonickers from times past. All in all, I was right to be wary- this game is much more like its Sonic X tv show counterpart, with its dumbed down characters (when did Dr Robotnik started to be called Dr Eggman?
Pros: Still a decent platformer for a new generation
Cons: Irritating voices, sell-out characters, leaves its roots
