Summary: In the description of this game it touted the ability to input your childs own spelling lists for them to practice. However, the only place to input the childs list is under the minigames section, you cannot use the Practice portion of the game for their words. Made the game next to useless for my purposes. I was able to get my money's worth out of it when my daughter was prepping for the Scripp's National Spelling Bee, but, again..
Summary: This game is great for kids who enjoy spelling and also for kids that need extra help. You can type in your child's spelling words from school and the game will help them practice them. It has easy levels for beginners and harder levels for the advanced speller and adults.
Summary: The Scripps spelling bee game helps you with spelling and having fun at the same time! You can play a game that has to do with spelling words at your own difficulty. It is great to have it if you absolutely love spelling. I know I do, but think about it, do you?
Summary: My daughter unexpectedly won the school spelling bee. We purchased this to help her prepare for district. She ended up placing 4th which is good for a first time contestant but I don't think this game helped much. It has a very limited database for inputting your own words and the method to enter them is quite tedious. The games themselves were fun, it was just too limited for our needs.
Summary: I have 3 kids using this game. Each has their own profile so it remembers them individually and what they have accomplished. The Spelling Bee portion is better for kids who in 4th or 5th grades and above, or have fairly good spelling skills. Although the game tries to determine your spelling aptitude, it quickly moves far beyond my 1st and 3rd graders. So, I don't have them play the spelling bee portion.
Summary: I got this for my son who hates to study his spelling words the traditional way. I liked the idea that he could play these games on his DS with his weekly words. Well it is a pain in the but to replace the words every week and only the minigames work with the words you input. The main game does not use those words. So for us it is not that great. If your child is into spelling and trying to train for live spelling Bees this would probably be a great product.
Summary: Bought this product for my 7 year old son to study his spelling words, i love this, he enjoys studying his spelling words. I love that we could input his spelling list, this makes this game very useful for our purposes. He loves the spelling bee and playing in competition with his cousin.
