  • Conclusion: The freedom offered to you in Scribblenauts is both intoxicating and overwhelming. Never before has a game given you this much control over solving the 200+ puzzles. Unfortunately it's a nasty control scheme that ultimately brings it back down to Earth. With some tweaking and structure Scribblenauts could have been one of the best games of the year. As it is, it's merely adequate.

Scribblenauts - Nintendo DS

ablegamers.com
6 October 2009
  • Excerpt: I'm going to get this out of the way first, Scribblenauts is incredibly fun. The entire gist of this puzzle/action/platform game/toy/timewaster is that you type in a word with the stylus and whatever you typed in appears, allowing Maxwell, the character you play as, to solve puzzles and collect Starites. You can make practically anything, as long as it is not a proper noun or anything worse than a PG rating. Anything from a car to a plane to a Pegasus to a zombie robot.

Scribblenauts review (DS)

HonestGamers

  • Excerpt: The capability to create hundreds of entities isn't particularly impressive when 80% of the game can be mastered with less than a dozen. Developer 5th Cell must have forgotten that most gamers seek degenerate solutions and will

  • Excerpt: Using your imagination is boring. That’s the lesson of Scribblenauts , a game where you can conjure almost any item just by typing its name; the only practical limit is your own creativity. The game’s puzzles are open-ended, so when you need to help a lumberjack chop down a tree, you can give him an axe, or sic termites on the tree’s trunk and let nature do the work.

Test : Scribblenauts (DS)

Gamekult.com
9 January 2010
