Scrabble 2007 Edition DS: B L E B R C S A. What Can You Make From That?
12 August 2011
Summary: I'm sure pretty much everyone the basics of Scrabble, so I won't dwell on it too much. However, just in case you've been living all your life in a cave, it's a board game which sets players the challenge of making words out of randomly selected letters and placing them on the board in such a way that they link up with other words and score as many points as possible.
Pros: Faithful recreation of the board game with strong opponents
Cons: Awful music, surpisingly heavy on the battery
Summary: If, like me, you love playing Scrabble, but your partner, family & friends all hate it, then this game is for you! It provides computerised opponents to play against in a standard Scrabble game, as well as related mini games if you just want a quick anagram fix. For this game is, of course, all about anagrams.
Scrabble 2007 Edition DS: Addicted to Nintendo DS Scrabble!
13 August 2009
Summary: I confess - I'm addicted to the Nintendo DS Scrabble! I spend hours on it. I alway say, I'll just have one game, then by the time I look at the clock the whole evening has passed me by again! This is a travel version of the much-loved board game. You can select single player or play against friends who also have a Nintendo DS. Unfortunately, I don't - so I'm constandly trying to beat the highly-intelligent "Angelina" cyber contestant. She's good!
Pros: Great way to survive long journeys
Cons: Some suspicious spelling traits may mean you lose more often than you'd like!
Summary: This Scrabble game for the DS is a great game for people of all ages. It is the portable version of the board game and can keep you entertained for hours. On this game, you can create up to two profiles. When you click through onto a profile, these options come up: Quick Game, Other Games, Career, Multiplayer and Options. Everything is really easy to navigate so don't worry if you are planning on buying this game for someone not used to playing on the DS.
Pros: Keeps you entertained for ages
Cons: Only allows 2 profiles to be created and can get boring once you've got to a high level on Career
Summary: Scrabble DS is a portable version of the popular board game. It plays exactly like the board game does with you placing tiles onto a board to make words. The interface is very intuitive, easy to use and pick up. The menu system is quite simple and uncluttered; you can get to virtually any part of the game in no more than a few seconds. The board is very clear and vibrant, it feels just like scrabble should. However there are some bad points.
Pros: its scrabble, if you like it you'll get some fun out of it, perfect for journeys
Cons: crippling lack of replay value, crazy spikes in difficulty
Summary: I inherited this game along with my DS from my step dad who decided he didn't want it any more. If it hadn't come with it though, I'd have gone and bought it anyway I think as scrabble is very much my thing. When you first turn the game on, you can set up two profiles which means that your cumulative scores on different things are stored so that you can move through the levels of the game or on other quick games you can see on a little graph how you're improving.
Pros: gives your brain a good work out, reasonable choice, lots of fun
Cons: uses the wrong dictionary, and makes words up sometimes.
Summary: Scrabble for the Ds is a fantastic game. You can play in a tournament against different challengers, each ranging in difficulty, from idiot to spelling genius. The classical game on the DS is much like playing the original. The game is easy to play on the DS, you simple drag the letters onto the board to play them.

Summary: When I first saw this game I immediately wanted it. It's been years since I've played Scrabble and I really fancied playing a game of it. However I kept holding off and waiting for the price to fall, luckily I recently recieved this as a gift, and it was worth the wait! Scrabble 2007 DS is just like the real scrabble game.
Pros: Just like the board game, easy to play and some challenging opponents.
Conclusion: I'm usually rubbish at the board game! But i love this game! I only bought it cause it was like a bargain, £9.99!! And i didnt have too many games at the time! Its a very good game, Quite addictive actually! Its suitable for all ages, and theres a child mode which doesnt allow any rude words to be used! Mind you if i were that young i wouldnt want to be playing scrabble! But yep, definately reccommend it!
