Professor Layton And The Unwound Future Review: A Great Story Meets New Mechanics

Game Informer
13 September 2010
  • Conclusion: Concept: Tie puzzle gameplay into an outrageous mystery just like always Graphics: The brain-teasers look as simple as ever, but this has easily the most deftly animated sequences of the series Sound: Doesn’t stray far from the traditional accordion music backing Layton’s proper British accent Playability: Slight tweaks to the puzzle solving tools help bring the series forward Entertainment: Nothing rocks the boat here, but the total package is the best of the trilogy...

Professor Layton and the Unwound Future

Digital Chumps
10 September 2010
  • Conclusion: Professor Layton and the Unwound Future is most certainly the best title in the series to date. Through minor improvements to gameplay, presentation, and probably the strongest story yet, Level-5 has managed to successfully continue a series whose similarities between games are great (with not an ounce of staleness yet). This game is sure to be as enthralling as either of the first two installments and fans will be delighted to solve 150+ puzzle once again.
