Apparently I don't see what everyone else sees in this

  • Summary: As an adult, I think this game is OK, I'd say that it's a game that is better than most. I think the drawbacks are the amount of unnecessary dialogue, lots of reading nothing pertaining to the storyline. I don't mind, I suppose it's kind of like being an investigator... but eventually, especially once you come upon a scene twice, the same conversations come up every time you tap. And then the characters have to comment 2 or 3 times about what you tap on.

Ok compared to the others

  • Summary: I find the puzzles a bit elementary compared to the other Layton games. It is a disappointment compared to the others.

More of a chore for me than a game....

  • Summary: I have played all three previous Professor Layton games. I loved Curious Village, thought Diabolical Box was ok and adored Unwound Future. I am currently 14 hours into Last Specter and hoping it ends soon so I can play something else. I eagerly purchased this game on release day knowing it was a prequel and would learn how the Professor and Luke meet. Unfortunately, for me, the story is quite lackluster and is barely holding my attention.

A Bit Disappointing (rounded down from 3.5 stars)

  • Summary: I'm a little surprised at all the high reviews that Professor Layton and the Last Specter has received so far on Amazon. I was personally a little disappointed with the game and thought it wasn't as good as the previous two. I took my time with this game, playing a little bit every night, and I only recently finished it.
