  • Excerpt: One of the wackiest fairytales you will ever witness. Get Down, Boogie Oogie Oogie!
  • Pros: + Nicely Done Ballroom Dancing Sim & Cute Story, + Multiple Playthroughs with Multiple Endings, + Nice character designs (while NOT dancing...), + Dance representations are accurate and fluid, + Flaw free DS functionality
  • Cons: Blocky character design while dancing, First few dances are very easy, First few "days" of the game can be repetitive

Princess Debut

Video Game Generation

  • Summary: All in all, this game is a great attempt at getting children (primarily young girls) interested in gaming by catering to that age-old concept that every girl wants to be a princess. It's a pretty solid game, albeit extremely simple. What's admirable is the amount of work that went into the art and branching of different conversations to create a different experience depending on how you behave toward different princesses.
  • Pros: Cute, hand-drawn anime characters, Interesting branching paths make for good replayability, Easy to understand, Good premise for young gamers, Solid "my first dating sim"
  • Cons: Can be disappointingly easy for seasoned gamers, Boring songs, Gameplay gets repetitive, Strange 3D models don't mesh well with 2D models.

Princess Debut

Nintendo World Report

  • Summary: Princess Debut is part relationship simulation, part rhythm game, and all fairytale.
  • Pros: Ballroom-based rhythm gameplay is extremely accessible, Lighthearted fairy tale storyline which still leaves some space for player-made decisions, Professional 3D dance sequences set to a wide variety of ballroom music
  • Cons: Dialogue-based relationship gameplay won't appeal to players not in the mood for prince-chasing, Need to play through Story mode many times to unlock songs, Need to repeat each song many times in Story mode to trigger the next one
