Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Review (WiiWare)

Gamers Daily News
12 January 2010
  • Summary: It’s a lazy port of a really good game at a reasonable price, which means newcomers will be delighted (and it’s to them that this game will be an 8.0), while series veterans should save their money.

Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney (DS) - Review

VGChartz
16 March 2009
  • Excerpt: Far removed from its glory days in the early 1990s, point-and-click adventure games have been staging a minor comeback on the Nintendo DS. Capcom’s Ace Attorney franchise has been at the forefront of this advancement. Placing players in the suit and anime-appropriate spiky hair of up-and-coming defense attorney Phoenix Wright, the game has the player search through crime scenes for evidence, meet with their client and other witnesses, and build up their case for the...

Review: Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney (DS)

Ani-Gamers
7 April 2007
  • Excerpt: Phoenix Wright, known by the Japanese as "Gyakuten Saiban: Yomigaeru Gyakuten," is a cult hit DS game ported from a Gameboy Advance "visual novel." It tells a story in which the player may choose who to talk to, and at times what to say and do, but it progresses on its own path most of the time. This results in a lot of reading and not a lot of action, hence the term visual novel.

Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney

Thunderbolt Games
8 January 2006
  • Excerpt: Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney is like nothing I’ve played in the last six or so months. I’ll be honest: I got pretty bored with all the recent games. But Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney , of all the games in my vast collection, has managed spark my interest. Instead of being a first-person shooter, where I have to invade the beaches of Normandy, blast through vicious demons, hell spawn, and aliens, or some sort of survival horror game where I’m chased through dark tunnels...

Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney

Portable Review
6 January 2006
  • Excerpt: I’ll have to admit that during the time when point-and-click adventure games were popular on the PC, I wasn’t that big of a fan of them. The same thing goes for lawyer dramas. But somehow, Capcom was able to combine the two and make one of the most appealing games on the DS. This game is a part of a Japanese-only series known as Gyakuten Saiban. In fact, this game isa remake of the first game, which was originally released on the GBA.

Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney

Project COE

  • Conclusion: With the graphics, Phoenix Wright is displayed entirely in an illustrative style. Going back to Trauma Center , both games make a great use of anime-style characters. However, Phoenix Wright takes things a step further by giving each character some multiple animations that are integrated into just about any situation instead of Trauma Center’s static characters. Playing the game is almost like watching a cartoon show.
