A good game, but...

  • Summary: Before you play this game, I highly recommend attempting to find a copy of the first game. This game DOES explain how the game's court system works, and you get an idea of what happened in the first game, but it's best to play the first game in order to fully appreciate it. As for the game itself, there are 4 cases instead of 5 in this game- which left me feeling a bit ripped off, as one of the 4 cases is incredibly short, and one does nothing for the story.

Not as good as the original, but still fun

  • Summary: I bought this game after playing, and loving the first phoenix wright game, and I'm a little dissapointed. Where the first game was clever and required some thinking, this game is mostly just frusterating. I often find myself having no idea what to do, and just randomly presenting evidence until I find the right item. When I do find the right piece of evidence, it sometimes doesn't make any sense, and there's no way to have known the right thing to do without guessing.

Almost but not quite.

  • Summary: First off, if you liked the first one you can add another star to my rating. Like the first one it has a good balance of detective work and presenting all the evidence in the court to make your point. The game started off great with the good character art and each story (case) having a semi-depth to it. Though there are only four cases in the game, each cases are pretty long.

  • Summary: this an good game. Especially if you want to think what you are doing. You need to present right evidence at the right time or you your meter goes down and then it is game over. The only problem i had was when you get a game over, and you are pretty far into the case, you need to start from the last save point.

A bit repetitive

A Customer, Sofa Cinema
18 August 2010
  • Excerpt: Not bad, but a bit repetitive. If you are looking for something really interactive then this is probably not for you as much of the gameplay is spent just pressing an arrow for the next dialogue box to come up. This particular game has four cases for Phoenix Wright to gather evidence and defend. If you've read any Agatha Christie then who and how the crimes were done are relatively easy. The trick is, however, presenting a particular piece of evidence at the right time.

Good game almost buried under tedious dialogue.

NP, amazon.co.uk

  • Summary: A good game but it's buried underneath sooo many screens of tedious dialogue you have to keep skipping through. And the dialogue isn't very good sadly. You have to spend a lot of time repeatedly pressing the "NEXT" button, watching the next screen of dialouge appear letter by letter until the "NEXT" button is available again. And then again and again and again and again resisting the urge to scream "JUST GET ON WITH IT" at the DS.
