New Super MARIO BROS.

Family Friendly Gaming
2 February 2013
  • Excerpt: Twenty years ago Nintendo released Super MARIO BROS. This legendary game flew off of store shelves, and started a revolution in the video game industry. Mario has gone through quite a few changes since that time, and this game reflects many of those changes. The New Super MARIO BROS. on the Nintendo DS takes the original, and completely re-tools it for today's gaming standards.

  • Excerpt: Developer: Nintendo Publisher: Nintendo Features: 1 player 2 – 4 players Wireless (single card) 2 – 4 players Wireless (multi card) Thank you Mario! But our princess is in another castle! That’s it, no more, no less. Minus seeing Princess Peach get kidnapped by a Koopa Kid in a small intro cut-scene, we are back to the grand old days of yesteryear when stories were few and far between, but gameplay was king.

New Super Mario Bros. (DS) Review

411mania.com
10 February 2008
  • Summary: Whether your first Mario adventure or just the latest, this is a must have game for the Nintendo DS. Classic Mario action has been revived and done so nearly flawlessly. Outside of a few small personal preference issues (I would have loved to have seen the raccoon suit included) this is as perfect as they come. Bundled with multiplayer options as well as a large selection of mini-games ensure NSMB will spend more time in the DS than in the box.

  • Excerpt: Any gamer worth their salt recalls the time that they first played Super Mario Bros. 3 , or indeed, Super Mario World . Despite this, the handheld formats have only seen rehashes and re-releases of those classic NES and SNES titles. New Super Mario Bros. is exactly what we were waiting for. A new version of a classic gaming franchise. I’ve avoided all coverage of this game so far. I wanted to be surprised.
