Summary: I guess this is probably aimed at young kids rather then myself (late 30's at the time of purchase). I just don't get it - boring and very repetitive. I love the sims in general and really enjoyed the original Nintendo version - I assumed that this would be similar. Would not recommend - though saying that I got 40+ hours worth of game play before I wondered what I was doing with my life.
Summary: I remember that before this game was released, I was really looking forward to it. It seemed like it'd be similar to Animal Crossing, except more customisable and with more to do. How wrong can a person be. This is genuinely the most boring game I have ever played. There's absolutely no diversity in the characters, they could all be the same person if it weren't for how they looked.
Summary: Rubbish game.Quite a few things are very annoying like:you can't transport. The is never many things to do and I was bored stiff! Not much to say except buy SUPER MARIO BROTHERS WII or SUPER MARIO BROTHERS DS!!!Don't waste your money!
Summary: I bought My Sims for the DS as I loved playing all of the several games on the PC and PS2 so I thought this would be a huge upgrade to the normal sims and espcially on DS I thought it would be very exciting. I played the game for a few hours and I found it really confusing. You couldnt do anything with your character like on the normal SIMS. you have no control over your character apart from travelling. For example you cant cook, clean, dance and play etc.
Summary: Compared to the wii version this is a real wash out. I will admit up front that I'm as 28 year old girl - admittedly probably not the target audience for this game. However, the game play between this and the wii version are totally different. In the wii version you can collect items and build furniture for your home or for other peoples. In the DS version all you seem to be able to do is go fishing, play tennis or make flower leis.
Pros: Pretty cheap, easy to play from the box
Cons: Dull, no variety in game play, hard to see what to do to progress after a while
Excerpt: "Being a big fan of the Sims I was quite intrigued when I found out about this game. After thinking about it for a while I decided to buy it on the DS rather than the Wii as I was off on holiday so thought would be great to take it with me. However, total waste of time, was really disappointed with it. It isn't a traditional Sims game and I don't think it can compete with the Sims. Instead of building your own house and creating your family in this ...
Maybe for younger gamers... but definitely not for me.

Conclusion: I've only been on it once since I've had it. The adverts, to be fair, made the game look excellent. Really fun, really cool, really different. I bought the game with good intentions, being 14 I thought the game would be a nice, easy task. Something fun to play on that wasn't too taxing over the Easter holidays. Obviously, I was wrong. I instantly got the babyish feel 10 seconds after it loaded.
Summary: This was a highly anticipated new game for the DS. There was a lot of hype around EA making this especially for the Wii and DS, and around the DS community there was a lot of buzz. I personally was really looking forward to getting it. Sadly, it's a huge disappointment. At best you have several hours of game play before its a repeat of the same old mini games and little in the way of real sims tasking.
