Summary: On the ds version of this game series I also have; My French Coach. Then for the psp I have My Spanish Coach. Of the to different systems, I prefer the ds version over the psp. The psp is just harder because you have to use the analog stick on wack a mole, which I don't like using unless it's on...
Summary: This does a great job of teaching you basic Chinese with games and repetition. You can hear the word pronounced, you can see the voice wave lengths and then you can speak the word and compare you intonation with theirs and try to match it for a better pronunciation.
Summary: Buying this game is the first step to learning Chinese its fun and i love it. Has a good phrase book and dictionary Bought it from amazon because they had it at a reasonable price as soon as they start selling my french coach im buying it to practice it.
Summary: I don't imagine that you will be able to become fluent with this program, but it is fun. I enjoy especially the writing portions. It does check that you are writing in a correct stroke order. The games are fun and challenging. They teach you to quickly recognize the words.

Summary: I got this program (I won't call it a game because it is not) in October 09 for $15. I attempted to learn Mandarin briefly in 2005, but it didn't last long because learning from Schaum's outlines was only slightly more interesting than watching milk curdle.
Summary: I think this game is great if you are studying the language. I have studied for 3 years before I started to play the game and I learned a lot of words that I did not even know from the game. They focus primarily on the Beijing (standard) dialect but it is very good.
