For those of us familiar with the series, for the Nintendo DS is just as good as its console counterparts. As with the other games, the goal of is to drill underground and reach a certain distance without being crushed by falling debris. You start out as Susumu Hori (the main star of Mr. Driller), and playing as the adorable youngster you must use his drill to pop multi-colored blocks. Read more

There's not much to say about Mr. Driller's story. Basically, you dig. Just as your ancestors before you did, you dig. What is the purpose of said digging? There really isn't one. You just do. With that said, let's get to what really draws me to the game - the inability to put it down. To be blunt, I love this game. It's not pretty or a great technological achievement. It doesn't boast great artificial intelligence or even a need for it. Read more
This game comes with a strong recommendation for us, especially to tetris and other puzzle loving fans, because it is quite addicting. You’ll sometimes get the feeling that the DS’ technological power isn’t used in the game. There is a variety of modes that will keep you battling to dig faster and deeper and trying to beat your best scores. Multiplayer action is equally entertaining. The concept is quite simple but hard to master. Mr. Read more
The DS has plenty of puzzle games but few have the heritage to draw from that Mr. Driller does. This entry doesn’t benefit drastically from the DS’s hardware, but its well-rounded range of modes gives it a far wider appeal than previous versions. The basic premise remains simple – drill downward through a wall of coloured blocks to reach the goal without running out of air. If four or more blocks of the same colour connect, they’ll disappear. Mr. Driller, a puzzle/action-based game that was originally released on the PlayStation and Dreamcast, is one of the simplest games I have ever played. The premise is to drill deep into the Earth's crust by leading your colorful little drill man through a wall of colored blocks. The gameplay is almost painfully simple, and the same tale sticks with the Nintendo DS installment of this puzzle series, called Mr. Driller: Drill Spirits. Read more
Namco actually uses the touchscreen here but it’s far more efficient and easier to simply use the directional pad and “A” button to control your on-screen character. This is especially apparent during multiplayer games. Have one player use only the touchscreen and the other player the directional pad and it’s becomes very apparent how to attain dominance. The graphics and sound are reasonable for this kind of game and they never confuse the issue. Read more

Pretty Bland. If you are a fan of the series maybe you'll like it. I was looking for an action puzzle game and although it can be called one, it really doesn't move far from "dig and dodge" (lost interest almost immediately). Bust-A-Move is WAAAYYY better, Great single and multiplayer. Also, Besides having to navigate the silly story, "Trauma Center: Under the Knife" is great fun and has definite action puzzle roots. Try out those two instead. Read more or see product
I bought this game from a shop for just £1 in the bargain bucket and thought that for one pound I might as well get it. This game is simple and easy to start playing the game is basicaly you drilling using the touch screen or arrow buttons to drill to the bottom to reach the next level. It might sound easy but it isnt some levels can be done quickly but some levels like tokyo have you digging 25,000 feet to get to the bottom. Read more
