Summary: Like my headline states, it is very similar to Monster Rancher 2, which in my opinion, is a good thing. The errantry is fairly different, however. My only real complaint is the monster creation mechanic has had very limited results so far as variety on monsters produced.
Summary: unlike the playstation versions u get your monsters either by saying different words or phrases into the mic or by drawing just about anything on the drawing screen. it can be entertaining possibly more entertaining than the battles. while not difficult to battle earning new skills thru "drills" is amusing to watch but really ya dont do anything its just an animation..
Summary: The Monster Rancher Saga paired with mobility is the best thing you could ask for from UFO. I've had so much fun trying to raise all the different monsters, and pairing them trying to see which ones would combine in the right ways. My only complaint is that I wish there were maybe one or two other options of stuff to do with your monster. Other than that, it's a great time to be had. It's a good place to start with the series, and easy to just jump into.
Summary: I never played the PlayStation versions, only Monster Rancher Advance and Monster Rancher Advance 2. I think this is a good next step from those versions, while preserving the feel of the franchise. The graphics are improved, and the fact that the models are other than just a change in color is a real plus, although a few of the models are quite ugly. I do not like the -ish monsters; they are useful for combining, but I wouldn't play them because they don't have faces!
Summary: Monster Rancher has gotten a bad name in recent years due to the substandard games that have been produced in the series. Ask virtually any fan which was their favorite game, and the most common answer you would get would be "Monster Rancher 2". Well, the good news is that Monster Rancher DS plays very much like Monster Rancher 2, and this is a very good thing. For those new to the franchise, Monster Rancher can be thought of as a cross between Pokemon and a virtual pet.
