Mechanic Master

Family Friendly Gaming
2 February 2013
  • Excerpt: Mechanic Master is one tough puzzle game on the Nintendo DS. Midway completely rocked me with this fun little hand held video game. Each level gives the player a set number of items, and so many aliens to be disposed of.  Weights, fans, pulleys, lighters, engines, and plenty of other items can be used to achieve the goal. The mechanical nature of Mechanic Master shines through pretty quickly.

MechanicMaster (DS) Review

20 June 2009
  • Summary: At 30 dollars, this game did not disappoint. As long as you are a fan of puzzlers there is nothing to frown upon with . The first few levels may seem insultingly simple, but don’t let that fool you, this game will give you a run for your money soon enough. The graphics and sound won’t impress, but as I said before, that is usually not the aim of puzzlers.

Clever puzzler lets players experiment with cause & effect.

Common Sense Media

  • Summary: Parents need to know that Mechanic Master is a problem solving game suitable for both children and adults. Puzzle-oriented play involves placing and manipulating game objects so that, when set in motion, they bring about a desired consequence, such as the destruction of googly-eyed balls of goo. It's a terrific game for players interested in setting their minds to complex, physics-based conundrums. There is little if anything in the game with potential to offend.

  • Conclusion: Mechanic Master is a quick, easy and fun puzzle game that can provide hours of entertainment. It is inspired by the Incredible Machine games of the early nineties and does a respectable job of replicating that game style. The graphics could be more polished and the audio could use some improving. However, Mechanic Master is an enjoyable puzzler with the added puzzle creation mode which provides hours of fun.
  • Pros: Easy to play, Over 100 puzzles, Can share created puzzles, Puzzle Creation mode
  • Cons: Some puzzles are repetitive, Graphics and sound are lacking
