gift for our grandchild

Summary: Our 6 year old grandson plays this game at school and loves it. We decided to purchase it for him so he could also enjoy it at home. Great for building math skills at an earlt age and making it enjoyable through a computer game.
Summary: My son got this game via "Santa" because he is doing so well in Math. He loves the game, it has both simple and advanced settings. He is learning new math problems like multiplication tables. He is 7yrs old and is able to play and understand most of the content, with a little help. I recommend this game to any child either that likes Math or needs a little help with Math.
Summary: I bought this game to help my son supplement his math skills. He could not seem to make it work - and with my very limited game skills (practically nil), neither could I. Essentially it was a waste of money for me, since you cannot return opened video games. I will try to sell it for what I can get to recoup some of the cost. My son is not a rookie at Nintendo, so I guess I'd say this game could and should have been designed better.
Summary: We bought this game to help my 8 year old son with his basic mental math skills, which need improvement. I figured since he loves his DS so much, this made sense. However, he didn't enjoy anywhere near as much as the version for his laptop. Overall: the game is good for basic math skills, but isn't as much fun as the PC version. If it's not fun, it won't keep them interested, so what's the point.
Summary: My grandson got bored with this game early because of the initial stage where you add the numbers to blast it was much to easy and getting to the target was much to hard. I wouldn't recommend this game as it gives no incentive to continue to play and there is no way to adjust the level that you start on, and if you can not blast the first target objective you stay on the basic level.
Summary: I purchased this game with the intent to give my child a way to avoid having to do flashcards with me. Boy what a big dissapointment!!! The game is more like a video arcade game and has a lot of action in it but barely any math. If you are looking for a game with maybe 10% math splashed in here and there then this is good if you are looking for a game that will drill math facts into them this is not it. I have also purchased math coach which is excellent....
Summary: We gave this to our son at Christmas to be used for practice as an alternative to paperwork during his homeschool days. At first he was NOT happy at the idea. However, the day he finally opened it up and gave it a try he was instantly pleased. He tells me the story line is weak but the games are really fun and he gets completely excited and shouts out answers while he's playing. He actually asks to play this game.
Summary: I bought this along with several other educational games for my kids. They love their DS's and thought it would be great instead of just adventure games. I tried most of their games and have thoroughly enjoyed them but this one, I was ready to turn it off right after the first 'mission'. I will let my kids try it this afternoon but I am not impressed. It is so difficult to navigate and you spend more time trying to get around in the game than thinking of math problems.
