Don't Buy

Amazon
7 July 2005
  • Summary: You know that feeling of accomplishment you get after defeating a game? Don't expect it after beating this game. When I beat it (in 3 hours) all I felt was that it wasted my time. All you do is run through levels, collecting coins and dodging obstacles.

Not as good as the movie.

Alex "47", Amazon
8 June 2005
  • Summary: Like most games, this game is not as good as the movie. The movie was not superb, and neither is this game ... by a long shot. There are rather repetetive levels, no real voice acting, and very tedious ' missions ' .

not a happy chappie

STEPHEN ROBERTS, amazon.co.uk
12 October 2011
  • Summary: Sorry to say this game does not fulfill my expectations. In so far as to say some of the animals do not function as the instruction booklet say they should, i:e: the lion does not "claw climb", & "Gloria" does not dive as she is supposed to.

Madagascar the film comes to the DS - probably best it didn't!

julwhite, Ciao
24 June 2009
  • Excerpt: Madagascar is a game for the Nintendo DS which is based on the film of the same name, and involves guiding numerous animals around New York. The plot of the game is to take control of four different animal characters, a lion called Alex, a zebra called Marty, a hippo called Gloria and a giraffe...
  • Pros: MIght be fun for kids for a while
  • Cons: If you're going to use a licence for a film kids use, they deserve a better game

One of the worst adaptations ever

yackers1, Ciao
4 April 2009
  • Excerpt: Having recently watched the animation over the Christmas period I noticed Madagascar the game for the DS whilst browsing around my local game rental shop. I know that many games based on animations do not live up to expectations, but some do and I was hoping that this was going to be one of them.
  • Pros: None
  • Cons: Far too many to list
