Summary: This game is very difficult to review. I picked up the original Luminous Arc a couple years ago at an electronics store thinking it looked interesting and different enough to buy, and hoping on the off chance it was good; I was eager to get a strategy RPG for the DS at that time. Needless to say, I was unexpectedly surprised and thoroughly pleased by it. The English voice acting was some of the best I had ever seen in any game or anime.
Summary: The fighting style in this game is very similar to the style used in the Final Fantasy Tactics series. I'm not a huge fan of this fighting style, but it was more user friendly than the Final Fantasy Tactics version. The story line is very intersting. The game overall is mainly story. There isn't much game play involved, which can get boring. I got bored with it after a few hours and switched to a different game.
Cute witches fight to save the kingdom in a magicial RPG

Excerpt: One of my favourite genre of video games would have to be strategy RPGs. In Japan these games are fairly popular, but unfortunately for me very few of those titles ever reach Europe. I suppose I could import them, but I wouldn’t be able to follow the story. I have barely mastered English so learning Japanese is out of the question. I was therefore ecstatic to learn that Rising Star Games was bringing Luminous Arc 2 to our shores.
Pros: Many characters, two different endings, better interface than first game, colourful anime graphics
Cons: No original ideas when compared to other strategy RPGs, cannot sort Lapis seeds you collect
