Lock's Quest

Family Friendly Gaming
2 February 2013
  • Excerpt: Lock’s Quest has got to be the most unique Nintendo DS video in the year of our Lord 2008. 5th Cell combined a role playing video game with a real time strategy game in a fantasy world set in the past. Confused yet? Well I was until I played the DS game published by THQ. There are three phases to a level in Lock’s Quest. The first one is the town stage where the player talks to different characters moving the story along.

  • Excerpt: Recently I had a chance to delve into a new Nintendo DS game from the creators of Drawn to Life. This new game, called Lock's Quest, is about a diabolical mechanical army devastating a kingdom. Nothing is left as village after village fall under their wrath. A young, brave hero, aptly named Lock, is the kingdom's last hope to survive the oncoming invasion.

Lock's Quest

Digital Chumps

  • Conclusion: Lock's Quest was one of the best games shown at E3 2008, surprising many gamers with one of the best looking original games on the DS since its release. And, despite a few control issues here or there, it most certainly succeeds in living up to the hype. I loved every minute of the game and am only saddened that the experience is already over. Hopefully a sequel is in the making because this game deserves to have more installments in the series. Recommended.

Lock’s Quest

Thunderbolt Games
14 September 2008
  • Excerpt: Development crew 5th Cell make a return to DS with Lock’s Quest , a strategy game that breathes new life into the genre. You may recall their other outing on the handheld – Drawn To Life , another (mildly) genre-bending romp of the platforming kind – and if one thing is now abundantly clear, the team have a lot of fresh ideas they’re ready to bring to handheld gaming.
