Legacy of Ys: Books I & II

Digital Chumps

  • Conclusion: I can't say enough about Ys. It truly was one of the biggest titles next to Bonk for the TG-16 and PC-Engine. It certainly belongs in the halls of the Final Fantasys, the Dragon Warriors and Phantasy Stars (also Zeldas... for you Steve). If you're any kind of a gamer and you want to experience one of the best RPGs and appreciate where your RPGs today sprang from, you would be nuts not to own this game.

  • Excerpt: As a big Ys fan, I was delighted to find out that the US would be getting both Legacy of Ys games on one cartridge. Having one is great, but having both together sounded like a real value. I was worried, however, that Ys would have some trouble jumping from more traditional platforms/PC to the handheld, two-screened Nintendo DS. Would the music quality remain the same? How would the graphics fare?
