Great game, BEST TEACHER for kids and portable on DS!

Jack Brown, Amazon
16 December 2010
  • Summary: My old review was long and detailed, and somehow deleted from Amazon. It was marked as Useful by like 10 out of 10 people so not sure what happened?!? So here's the highlights. Anyway, this is the same game as has been popular on the PC for many years.

Could go further

Ali4, amazon.co.uk
7 November 2011
  • Summary: My son knew the basics of chess already and wanted to learn a few tactics. Unfortunately this game took him about as far as he knew already and no further - he completed all the tuition parts in a few hours. What a shame it doesn't progress to teach opening and checkmate strategies.

A great game for starting out as a chess player

S. Robinson, Amazon
8 May 2009
  • Summary: This is a fun game which has by eight year old son completely hooked. My son has been playing chess for about 4 months and I got him this game to encourage practice and so he would spend less time on non-educational games.

Fritz & Chester Chess Game on DS

Georgina Williams "beagleblue", Amazon
22 April 2009
  • Summary: Bought this for my daughter (age 9) who loves to play chess but sometimes forgets some of the moves. This is great as it allows them to think they are playing a game rather than actually learning anything (children seem to have the ability to learn games better than their homework!).
