  • Excerpt: Nintendo's pink puff character is back in a new adventure. Is the Squeak Squad a step up or a step back? Nintendo's Kirby video game franchise has been wildly successful and popular for gamers of all ages. His cutesy image hides a rather ferocious appetite and fantastic array of abilities. The last DS release was Canvas Curse, an innovative title that utilized the touch screen on the handheld, exciting gamers with its unique versatility.

  • Excerpt: It’s a wonderful day in Dreamland and Kirby is relaxing, about to enjoy a piece of his scrumptious strawberry shortcake. Just before he is able to take his first bite however the shortcake disappears right from under his non-existent nose! At first sign Kirby would assume it is King Dedede, as he is usually behind all of the nefarious doings around Dreamland, but very soon Kirby finds out that it is the doing of the Squeak Squad.

Kirby: Squeak Squad review

AtomicGamer
22 December 2006
  • Excerpt: I remember my first exposure to the Kirby series. My brothers had just gotten Game Boys to make a trip across the country. Not one of the pocket ones or colors, mind you – the original huge hunk of portable gaming power. 4 AA batteries and a whopping 4 colors on the screen were all they had to use. One of the games they got shortly after was the original Game Boy Kirby game. I, of course, stole the Game Boy sometimes to play it (see, I got a Game Gear instead).

Kirby Squeak Squad

Nintendo World Report
13 December 2006
  • Summary: Kirby sucks—and this time, I actually mean it.
  • Pros: Decent boss battles, Kirby's powers are still fun
  • Cons: Almost no exploration or challenge, Low difficulty makes it short, even for a Kirby game, No interesting new powers (and some are missing), Recycled graphics and sound
