Kirby: Power Paintbrush (DS)

Rex Inego, Verdicts
30 September 2012
  • Excerpt: Kirby: Power Paintbrush is presented in a simple, yet effective fashion. The story is a little cheesy and weak, but it sets the job before you up well enough. The basic premise is that a cursed canvas has taken Kirby's ability to do anything except to roll around away from him.

Kirby Power Paintbrush

Heather Phillips, amazon.co.uk

  • Summary: Kirby Power Paintbrush has good ideas and impressive graphics. It starts off easy, but very quickly becomes very difficult. The game is entirely controled with the stylus, so if you don't have one or don't enjoy using one, you won't enjoy this game. This game has a very unique take on platforming that it shares with few other games and although very difficult and often a little frustrating, it's a rewarding experience that Kirby series veterans and newcomers can enjoy.

  • Excerpt: Although the Nintendo DS has been a huge sensation on the back of Nintendo's major franchises such as Mario and Pokémon, it's one of Ninendo's lesser well remembered characters that has been in one of the very best DS games. Kirby, the pink bubblegum like character that oozes cute like no other character could even dream of featured in the excellent Kirby Power Paintbrush a game that truly shows how excellent, unique and intelligent DS games can be.

Get help now, and then read this review. This time though, Kirby has lost his limbs to an evil witch called Drawcia, so Kirby must now get revenge and restore his hometown, which the witch mucked up.

  • Summary: I have never really been a big fan of Kirby because his games were never so good as the Mario or Donkey Kong games overall. Thats untill now where Kirby: Power Paintbrush really pushes the ds touch screen controls to it limits and it plays like a dream. You can hand draw rainbow paths for our pink Kirby of joy to move on and you can even make him do crazy loops on them too. The graphics are nice and cute with lots of great style.

  • Summary: First off its value for money as I have played on it for about 20 hours trying to complete the game 100%. Its cute, colourful, great gameplay and it manages to be progressivley harder throughout the game yet still be fun through out and not too frustrating so its engaging for people of all ages and levels of skill.
