It's platforming...but not as we know it

iamasadli..., Ciao
10 November 2010
  • Excerpt: Although the Nintendo DS has been a huge sensation on the back of Nintendo’s major franchises such as Mario and Pokémon, it’s one of Ninendo’s lesser well remembered characters that has been in one of the very best DS games.
  • Pros: Cute, charming, long lasting, original, none stop fun
  • Cons: Frustratingly difficult at times, but generally simple

Kirby: Power Paintbrush (DS)

Rex Inego, Verdicts
22 January 2007
  • Excerpt: Kirby: Power Paintbrush is presented in a simple, yet effective fashion. The story is a little cheesy and weak, but it sets the job before you up well enough. The basic premise is that a cursed canvas has taken Kirby's ability to do anything except to roll around away from him.

Not quite a classic

swimbearuk, Amazon
27 August 2006
  • Summary: I was worried about buying another stylus platform game after playing Yoshi Touch and Go! I'm glad I went ahead with my purchase as this is in a completely different class. No more circling enemies to trap them in bubbles, just tap the screen to stun them and direct kirby into them.

Rewards once you learn the controls

Mr. Thomas M. Gane, Amazon
27 August 2006
  • Summary: Once you get used to only using the touch control I found this game very addictive. Some of the music I liked, which I didnt really expect. It's quite cutesy, but definitely not sickeningly cute. The sounds are good quality and dont get annoying or repetitive.

Kirby is Nintendo king!

Mr. A. D. Coyle, Amazon
27 August 2006
  • Summary: Being one of the less famous Nintendo heroes here in Europe, i think that it is fair enough if you are debating over whether or not to purchase this game. Well let me tell you that if you do you won't regret it. Kirby Power Paintbrush is easily one of the best titles on the Nintendo DS.

Truly superb

kingg, Amazon
27 August 2006
  • Summary: I bought this game after reading all the great reviews and I must admit that I was a bit disappointed after playing it for a few hours. Moving Kirby around with the stylus was new and interesting but frustrating at the same time.

A great platformer which has fantastic touchscreen controls.

Dragonlord, Amazon
27 August 2006
  • Summary: I have never really been a big fan of Kirby because his games were never so good as the Mario or Donkey Kong games overall. Thats untill now where Kirby: Power Paintbrush really pushes the ds touch screen controls to it limits and it plays like a dream.
