KUDOS to whomever came up with the idea - there is no longer any chord or song too difficult to play with this baby!

AgogoLive, Amazon
13 January 2012
  • Summary: KUDOS to whomever came up with the idea - a believable $19 Pocket Guitar when teamed up with a pair of speakers! Kudos to the inventor of this DS program. ANYONE can play this and sound like a pro with a few rhythmic flicks of the stylus in hand. Bought mine for $19 and it s the best $19 I spent in a long time. With Jam Session, small groups can get together at home for a sing along. Anyone can now play impossible chord combinations.

  • Summary: this is awesome i bought one and i play it everyday. i can make up my own songs, record them, sing with the songs, and they already have songs on there that you can play. they teach you step by step and you can sing. they have some recent songs(im with you-averil lavinge, life is a highway-rascal flatts, over my head-the fray.) its really fun and you can tune it, change your background, guitar strings, and alot more other fun stuff!

An audio sketchbook for songwriters

qt, Amazon
10 October 2007
  • Summary: I was pretty skeptical when I first caught wind of this, expecting it to be more toy than tool. This "un-game" is an interesting way for songwriters to capture ideas when away from their instruments and/or in noisy public places. You can plug your headphones in and strum through every chord on the fretboard, recording your progressions on the fly so you can take it back to your home/studio to work them into a polished product. Think of it as a sort of audio sketchbook.

"Guitar Sim"

ShutterBug, Amazon
13 September 2007
  • Summary: Ok, this isn't a game, but rather an acustic guitar simulator. Still it is fun, and there are certain game aspects (unlocking content by playing songs). I picked this up when it was released yesterday, so my time with it is limited, but I'm already satisfied that I will get my moneys worth. You strum the strings using the touch-screen and select chords using the D-pad (or can be configured to use the buttons if you are a leftie).

  • Conclusion: i bought this when it first came out and i knew exactly what is was and what is wasn't (not guitar hero) and its the perfect portable guitar and it works a treat, but people shouldn't buy if they don't know its a portable guitar and NOT A GAME! i enjoyed hours of fun with it and still play it now.

A real good muck about

SixMile, Play.com
31 March 2008
  • Conclusion: I have been playing the guitar for over 10 years and have recorded and released alot of music over those years so I wanted something to simulate a guitar when I'm not near one so I could try out new ideas or something. This game is brilliant for the price. It is really good fun and has around 20 pre loaded games to play with or you can free play with your own patterns and jam along with another friend on their DS.
