Summary: I bought this expecting it to resemble either Hotel Dusk or the Phoenix Wright series. It really is exactly like an electronic choose-your-own-adventure novel. There is little to no interacting with surroundings, and all gameplay is carried out through questioning people by means of multiple choice. You do not get to walk around as you do in Hotel Dusk, nor do you get to thoroughly examine surroundings like in Phoenix Wright.
Summary: The "Ace Attorney"/"Gyakuten Saiban" series is the standard for point-and-click adventure games on the Nintendo DS, and will likely remain that for a long while. However, if Aksys keeps pushing this series, mystery lovers may very well have a nice alternative to the comedic and frantic world of Capcom's flagship franchise with the hard-boiled, dead-pan tales of detective Jake Hunter.
