Not as deep as I had hoped

Summary: I ordered this game after having gotten into roguelikes on the PC (NetHack, POWDER, etc). I knew it wouldn't be as deep as those or as complicated, but I was still a bit disappointed by just how simple it is. Dungeons consist of rooms and corridors with a random assortment of invisible traps and loot that quickly overwhelms your inventory.
Summary: I bought this game for my boyfriend for Valentine's day. Immediately, he found out to his deep dismay that whenever the character died, she'd lose everything she had as far as items go (even ones that were equipped). This got annoying fast, as you die a lot in the beginning. He hasn't picked it up since. Good thing it was a cheaply priced game.
