The characters save the game

John, Amazon
6 April 2015
  • Summary: Games like these have the story as their most important aspect. This game is a point-and-click adventure, but I was baffled that the gameplay and "puzzles" were basically hoops you had to jump through to get the next piece of the story. Not sure what to do next?

Not quite the interactive story Phoenix Wright is

David Keyworth, Amazon
19 June 2011
  • Summary: My approach to this game came from many fans of my favorite DS game, Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney, telling me how great and similar it is. The game has a distinctive 'drawn' art style to its characters, and some unique personalities to the conversations, plus several moments of solid humor.

OK game but kind of difficult without cheat sheet

msanc123, Ebay
7 January 2011
  • Summary: Game is OK, you sort of have to follow a certain storyline or script to get anywhere. I had to download a cheat sheet to help guide me through the game, which now made it kind of boring. Takes alot of time and can't just save anytime, so make sure you have a good amount of free time when you play.

"And here? Inside this hotel? Am I going to find something I don't want to see?"--Kyle Hyde

mwreview "mwreview", Amazon
7 November 2009
  • Summary: This "mystery novel" puts you in the character of Kyle Hyde. Hyde is a tough, no-nonsense, surly former New York detective turned salesman for Red Crown. His boss, Ed, also uses Hyde for side jobs "finding things that don't wanna be found.

Hotel Dusk: Room 215 on my DSi

jessmarie1307, Ebay
8 August 2009
  • Summary: OK game-slow and long dialogue which was irritating, wish there were more interactive puzzle types/activities. I liked how some of the puzzles required me to close and re open my DSi to finish it. Often left lost and confused on where to go and what to do next. But other then that, it was ok.

18 October 2007
  • Summary: Has a great story, i liked it, but it has many things to improve, talking about sound. I liked how you can play it, just turn your ds vertically, such a book, and start solving puzzles, like try to turn on a computer, just with a pencil, or find the numbert to open a lock, just by connecting the...

You'll want to like it more than you actually like it

punkviper, Amazon
4 August 2007
  • Summary: Sure a noirish text adventure sounds like just the thing for DS owners who are sick of seeing every licensed pre-teen TV show property under the sun appearing on the handheld, but the truth (if you are honest about it) is that Hotel Dusk: Room 215 just doesn't end up cutting the mustard as a good...

Hotel Dusk is an exhausting game

pcostales2003, Ebay
2 August 2007
  • Summary: I give this game a rating of average because I enjoyed a couple of the clever gimmicks utilized through the DS for the puzzles. The problem though is that the story goes on tangents that just go on for an eternity and never go anywhere interesting.
